There is nothing sweeter in the world than a baby's laugh.
It just brightens your day making it impossible not to laugh along. Because of
this, Joey and I always try to make the twins laugh through silly sounds, funny
faces and of course, tickles. Tickles are a guaranteed laugh inducer for babies
which is why we love reading Ten Tiny Tickles, by Karen Katz to the twins.
The book is about a baby who is greeted by different family
members with tickles as she wakes up and gets ready for the day. It starts with
one tickle on baby's head and progresses until we reach ten tickles on baby's
toes.
What's really great about this book is that you can play
along as you read. The twins laugh and squeal every time we tickle them after
reading each page. It has also helped them in recognizing body parts. As they
grow older, I feel that this book will also be helpful in teaching them how to
count. The numbers are written clearly in words and figures, and are also
accompanied with the corresponding number of daises for visualization. As with
all Karen Katz books, the illustrations are cheerful and bright which makes it
the perfect book to start any baby's day. If you're looking for a great way to
bond, laugh and learn with your baby, then this book is definitely for you.
